idealog.works is a small personal and professional website. It does not set advertising cookies, it does not run third-party analytics, and it does not build a profile of anyone who visits. This page describes the few pieces of information the site does touch.
What the site collects
Standard server access logs kept by the hosting provider (Netlify) record the IP address, user agent, and URL of every request. These logs are used for operational purposes, rate limiting, and debugging, and are retained according to Netlify's own policy.
If you use the contact form, the information you submit (name, email address, and message) is handled by Netlify Forms and emailed to the site owner. Nothing in that form is required except what you choose to provide.
The Substack feed shown in the Writing section is fetched once at build time. No data flows from the reader to Substack unless the reader chooses to click through.
What the site does not do
- No advertising networks, no ad tech, no retargeting.
- No session recording, no heatmaps, no behavioural analytics.
- No third-party JavaScript trackers. The only external resources are Google Fonts (stylesheet) and the WhatsApp deep link.
- No selling, sharing, or trading of information with third parties for marketing.
Cookies
The site does not set its own cookies. The browser may store a single local preference for light or dark theme. That value stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
